Do all Omega models and movements share a common serializtion sequence? Is it reasonable to assume, for instance, that serials for 1040 Seamaster movements would interleave with Speedmaster 861s?

Well, no expert opinions yet, but based on a very limited sampling it does appear that one serialization sequence across all models and movements seems to work

This helps me date various models using the tools provided by MWO and others.
