Hello. I'm new to the Omega Forum and was wondering if anyone could help me? I'm looking to buy an Omega watch that was just listed on eBay, but I know nothing about it. Can someone please take a look and let me know what they think its worth? Here's the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/130831020676?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network - Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Its a Speedmaster Moonphase, its based on the Speedmaster MK40 triple date design, but with added moonphase. The movement is the ETA 7751, so if you do a google image search for that movement you'll find heaps of other watches powered by it too, its both a very strong movement, and an easy one to have serviced and get parts for.

One of our members (cicindela / Steve) has that watch. I'd expect it to sell somewhere between $1200 - $1500.

dslo, thanks for the valuable information. You're a great resource! What do you think it should sell for? I want to be the highest bidder. It's a gift for my dad that I know would really appreciate it.

ulackfocus, Completed search on eBay listings showed them selling for $2,200+. I would love to get it for under $1,500.

They sell for that much without the TT band. With the Omega OEM band and in very good condition expect sale to be 2795-2995. Anything less is a good price. 2200-2400 is real good. Don't buy a banged up one. The Japanese sell many of these, usually in very good condition.

These are unique and under appreciated watches. I love mine . The TT matching band really make it look classy. These were largely sold in the European and Asian market, which is why they are so overlooked here. You won't win this one by biding low. You bid 23-24 someone will snipe it out from under you. There are many that know the value of these.

Cicindela, your pricing is more inline with what I thought/saw on eBay. Can you look at the one on eBay that I'm watching (see link above) and let me know what you think? Price already went from $99.00 to $1,025.00 within first couple of hours. I hope it doesn't go above $2,600. That's all I'm prepared to spend.

    Good luck!

Does anyone know if/when I bid on this watch, should I wait till the last few seconds before putting in my best offer? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5337239012&toolid=10001&mpre=http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...Name=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network any strategies for securing this watch would be very helpful.

I would , nothing to gain by bidding it up early. I usually bid in the last 13-10 seconds.
However some just prefer to put in their max and wait and see what happens.
If you bid in competition with another bidder you may just make him say , what the hell I'll just go for it and add a lot more. In the last seconds it is hard for other bidders to re-access and get another higher bid in.

Also remember the world is watching what you write here.

Set yourself a highest bid, don't get carried away in a bidding war. ;)

Thank you Cicindela & Steve. Information well taken. Cicindela, do you think by me writing here, I'm really attracting more people to bid against me?

I think everyone on here who would be interested in that watch was probably watching it already.... but I wouldn't necessarily be posting my max bid :)
