Omega Model ID and Value Assist Help Please (2846/2848?)

In a battle of the AI language models, one is certain this is a 14700 and another is a 2846/2848.

As I'm thinking of meeting up with a local hobbyist who is interested in the watch, I'd like to be armed with info. I don't expect to sell it at retail or even necessarily Ebay auction pricing - I just want to have a fair price in mind.

Provenance: The watch was my grandfathers (who was original owner) and passed down to me.

Near as I can tell a $700 ish price is in the ballpark?

That's a nice watch. Value is mainly based on condition. This is an uncommon reference, but also not as popular as the beefy lug models.

Thanks Dan. My research says the patina on the dial is not necessarily something that devalues the watch for a collector, would you agree?

I would say that a clean dial will always be more appealing and more valuable than a dial with damage/patina, so this is not an absolutely top tier example. But that particular even coverage of spotting falls into the type of damage that is still acceptable to many collectors. Like I said, it's a nice watch, and you will definitely find a buyer at the right price.

The credit goes to google image search as I couldn't find this reference in my own notes.

I don't follow the prices on these references anymore, so I would check eBay sold listings for the price range.
