I have a vintage Omega square face silver/ stainless steel case gold hands fully working order. Not the original strap can anyone tell me how much this would be worth please?
How are You Sir[emoji137] I'm only a newbie here & vintage Omega isn't my forte but have patience , perhaps you could introduce yourself to the forum members ?
You narrowed it down a bit. I was going to say between zero and infinity. gatorcpa PS - It's one of Omega's classic designs. It's a redial, but looks in decent condition otherwise.
If you can open the back with out damaging it it will have the reference/model number on the case back. You can search eBay for prices. The serial number is on the movement and can give you a rough date.
Thank you for your help, I'll wait and see what happens thank you that's a great help, had no idea where to find model number, shall have a go
Don't try to open the case back yourself if you haven't done this before. Take it to a watchmaker. I think it is a 3950, however. These are uncommon in steel, however the refinished dial will devalue it quite a bit.
Well we now know it's worth at least £75: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mens-Omeg...148910?hash=item1ebade49ae:g:Qi8AAOSw5cNYEbsAPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network From the last photo on the listing the dial looks original to me.
AFAIK the dials on these 3950s should say SWISS MADE at the bottom. If not (like the OP's eBay example) it is likely a redial. N.B. that it didn't meet the reserve. In any case it is worth more than £75!
You may very well be right, I was just (unwisely perhaps) going by its general appearance as this isn't a model I know. Might the "Swiss Made" be hidden by the lower edge of the case?
No, it wouldn't be that low. More like in my watch (which I've shown), and also like that in others I've seen.
