Grateful for advice on the correct bracelet and end links for a 166.072 Omega Memomatic. Also interested in what other options might look good. It's the blue seconds hand version: Many thanks, Matthew
Hi Matthew Nice avatar... I even know what it is due to an expert explanation over a beer in Dresden. I’ve also got a 166.072 and asked a similar question just when I bought it. Haven’t got round to doing anything with it yet though... https://omegaforums.net/threads/bracelet-strap-recommendations-for-memomatic-166-072.64093/ Cheers David
Thanks, David! Very useful link. I see 618 end links mentioned but they look too curved to me, it would be great to have confirmation. Cheers, Matthew
And if you don’t know already there’s the great site http://www.old-omegas.com/ with lots of old Omega catalogues. It’s often useful as a reference. Here are some quick screen grabs with memomatics from the early to mid 70s.
So, I have been trying to record a table of endlinks and models. This is what I have on this reference: Endlink: 618 Width: 22 Bracelet: 1170 (fits 1171) Model: 168.072
I second that My ST 166.072, 1969, ser # 30.019xxx, has bracelet 1170 with 30 in circle and 2 x 618 end links) Although i almost always wear it on the Hisrch orange carbon fibre strap
@Mr Curta Here is mine with a Miltat MT.088S bracelet which I think, makes it justice. I have been unable to find an original 1170/618 bracelet in good shape. I believe the Miltat bracelet catches very well the end of the 60's and 70's flavor and blends with the Memomatic spirit.
I am in the process of sourcing the 1171 bracelet to use it with a pair of 618 end links but I have heard, the last link of the 1171 is 20mm wide and not 22mm like the last link on the 1170 bracelet; since the 618 end link is 22mm wide, when it is joined to the case and the bracelet, the 1171 ends up being 1mm shorter both sides. Can anybody confirm this?
