So I saw Meister on the dial of an Omega constellation. Wasn't sure what that was. Was it like a participating design maker like Rolex has with Tiffany and Co? Have they done this with other models or companies? Just looking for some info from the experts
Meister is a Swiss high end store that for a time, 1960’s and 1970s I think, cobranded on the dial with Omega. Reference 145.022-69 with 220 Bezel
Nice! Thanks for the info. Yeah, the watch was a 1967. So for example, a Constellation, or like the picture you shared the Speedmaster, would there be a Meister version and a non-meister version? Would the Meister be nicer?
The co-branded watch (here Meister) will be more valuable and desirable, esp. when you have the original box (like @gemini4 has
Truth be told, the Meister box came (from seller) with the above watch but I doubt if it was original
Cartier and Tiffany are also seen on Omega. Normal they are precious metal, but some SS exist for both. For Cartier it’s fairly random which models as each store operated independently and it appears small batches where ordered randomly.
Just saw this one just today, first time in a long time I’ve seen one going no reserve so it’ll be interesting to compare it to the Speedmaster101 price chart and see what kind of premium if any the Meister dial is actually carrying at the moment on a 321. https://www.ebay.com/itm/334049939946?hash=item4dc6ed91ea:g:5scAAOSwkBtg0iStPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
As others have pointed out, there are a couple of other 'double-signed' pieces. I don't recall ever seeing them on Speedmasters, but 'TÜRLER' show up on vintage Constellations and Seamasters, and 'Senior Nylic' especially on Seamaster De Villes. I recently picked up my first double-signed watch, a 'TÜRLER' Constellation: Double signed pieces were definitely not unique to Omega and Rolex, as many brands had special relationships with jewelers and dealers. Just be sure that there are verifiably original examples of a double-signed piece with the same retailer before getting too excited. And of course, make sure to cross-reference the signature with other examples to make sure that your prospective watch hasn't been tampered with/had the signature added by an unscrupulous seller, as hoi mentioned.
