Hello Mate !
Thank you for the kindness of your time to respond to my enquiry &
I very much appreciate your opinion / expertise on the condition.
As a professional advertising photographer, I strive for the best I can find, sometimes that
uncompromising edge costs me too much !
My guess is that the price will hover up to around £1300 mark, which seems to be the
common 'going rate' but is stretching my budget.
Thanks again for your help.

Oh ok that's more than I was expecting lol, very interesting and diverse collection, since you're a photographer, I'm guessing you have plenty of pics too?

That Carrera in particular sounds interesting and the Rolex's

Nice sounding collection... and it's good to see more Brits on here 😁

I have been browsing for Mk II's recently & you might want to look at this one: https://www.chrono24.com/en/omega/s...l-mark-ii--id2034495.htm?picnum=0&tab=details

The case looks a bit worn on the back & although there are no details of the bracelet it looks to have the correct 173 ends on it. The racing dial is particularly attractive & £1300 is really looking like the standard asking price unfortunately.

Quick snap just taken of the Heuer Carrera, & one of the generic "Swiss Divers" watches - both propped on another iconic piece of engineering, the Nikon F2A of the same period circa '69

Very clean layout those early Carreras and a beautiful colour combination, I can't speak to the camera sadly as I use an iPhone 4S as my imaging device of choice 😜

Thanks - Going off to shake my piggy bank.....See if anything falls out 😉
What's your opinion of the one currently on Ebay ?
Tend to always buy quality - last for ever, looks classic, & sod the price !

I think its a good buy, its not a classic Speedmaster, the Pro tends to have more of a following and the MK2s get overlooked as they're far more 1970s than they are 1960s (Sort of like the Ferrari 308/GT4 as compared to the more loved 246) but if you're into that edgier styling, the example your looking at is a nice one and worth the money you're looking at.

Very nice set! What kind of hairdryer is that in the background? Trev and some of the other guys are into that kind of steel too

A deactivated Thompson 1928A1 - Rescued from a Russian Armoury, located in a Ukrainian Salt mine......Really ! - Shipped in '41 by the Americans as part of the Lend Lease 'Aid Scheme' - Never used, in completely mint, out of the box condition.
Have a passion for clever, innovative, precise design, & engineering.

Ahk, figured the Americans wouldn't waste weapons as expensive as the Thompson to the Russians but it makes sense that it was sent in '41 since the grease gun didn't come out until '42, cool story on that piece.

Totally agree... although it's always hard to resist the urge to drive a bargain 😁

The "racing" dial usually demands a premium price. I've seen nice ones go for several thousand dollars, quite a bit more than the same era moon watch. I have one from 1969, wear it on a rubber strap when I'm riding my Harley.
