OMEGA MARK II CO-AXIAL. ERROR BEZEL ORANGE

If it is really strange, the point is that the 1st buyer of this watch bought it in a prestigious watchmaker, with all its documentation in order, I mean those red cards of Omega, which is the document and certification that it is an authentic watch; and there are 100% guarantees that the watch has not been manipulated to alter its aesthetics.

Thank you for your interest

Sorry for the repetition of the photos, I'm new to the forum, and I still don't understand much about uploading photos... I think they're not online... and I send again.

I would tend to believe Omega more than the original owner. It may have been modified.

For me it has more harmony, in orange, and it is more if the second hand should have the orange color, and the minute and hour hands too, there was already a special edition for the Italian market with the 1st Mark II.

Enjoy your watch, it looks great, original or not! 👍

I would like the direction of Archives or Production of Omega, to join the forum, and explain what has happened... I know it's asking for a lot... it's like "a miracle."
It is that I can not find any model at present of Omega that has the Bezel-glass, of that color; I want to put myself fictitiously in the lujgar of the watchmaker of the Omega factory, and know how he could place that bezel that is not of the series; surely it tended a lot of the one that corresponds ... but in orange?... I don't know.

I share the same taste, for me it looks much more beautiful, it impacts as soon as you see it.
Thank you very much for your comment.

If I believe in the great institution that omega is, but in the past with the Speedmaster series they made another mistake on the tachymetra scale, they recorded 225 and corresponded to 200 and then 190, this did not recognize the error ... it was only in production for 2 months.

Maybe somebody modified it to have the orange reflector show through? The white bezel has dots in white e.g. under the 500 on the tachometer…but in the OP the dot under the 500 looks black, as though something that is there is no longer there...

Bingo.

It is clear to see from this pic that something is missing (just look at every marker on the tachymeter ... the solid orange is the orange 'reflector', and half of each marker shows a hole as the reflector is not as wide as the bezel. So either Omega forgot the white ring, or someone removed it. Personally I would never believe Omega could do something this sloppy...but then Rolex also once made a faulty dial, so it could well be. Either way, I don't think there is any mystery (or anything special) here...other than it looks cool and unique, so enjoy it. The holes would bother me a bit...however I am a pedant.

@eugeneandresson - Good eye. You're sharp!

Curious to know/see Rolex's faulty dial.

You don't believe it is genuine?

Yes, I do believe it is a genuine "mistake" from Rolex.

There is no "white ring" that can be removed. The white text is painted onto the back of the crystal, so either someone remove the crystal, carefully scraped off the white paint without damaging the black paint and keeping perfect form on all the numbers and marks, or the white paint was never added. Personally, I would say the latter is more likely.

Cheers, Al
