Hi all-
I have an Omega Dynamic on my bench that I'm hopeful to get working! My wife showed interest in it, so if I can get this working, she might wear it!

Crystal is cracked, but I can't get it off with my aliexpress crystal lift, so I was hoping someone could help me get the dimensions of a replacement? I have a tool-102 on the way, which should fix the crystal-lift problem, but I'd rather order ahead of time.

Best guess is this is a 565.015 or 566.015, so any dimensions anyone could share would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

PS: Included a preliminary timegrapher report, which looks encouraging!

I think the date crystal is a bit taller than the no date. Somewhere in the archives here is a crystal chart, which I suspect you found.

The cases I have do have both model number stamped in them. I did have a 671 movement borrowed from another watch in one of the cases until I found a proper 630 for the dial. So there is room in the case for the rotor. The date mechinisim on the 681 sits higher.

I got lucky with a replacement crystal, which came with a lift and a chipped spare. I did manage to damage the spare by cranking the lift too hard on it while practicing with it. I think the crystal is supposed to be pressed in with a tapered crystal press.

200 seems a bit high as one can often find these examples complete for less than that. Does seem to be a bit of a price creep though in the last three years. The closing of international markets is not helping any of this.

I think I have a third case, which does not have the strap retaining ring, and no crystal or dial. I use that case for testing my laser cut straps.

Thank you both of you! Looks like I have the right crystal for the 5660015 coming, I paid $100 for it, hopefully the site isn't a scam.

I was fortunate to get 3 straps with this one! And I was impressed that you can still get these!

Thank you both again!

Welp, got it apart today, but sorta by accident. I was messing with it a little, and either the existing damage, or my attempt with the crystal lift yesterday broke it. As I was handling the watch today, the crystal broke at the top of the tension ring /case all around! I ended up having to do quite a lot of 'picking' and 'digging' into it (plus some use of one-dip to try to weaken the plexi), and ended up slipping and giving an ever-so-slight scratch on the dial. Probably not noticable with the naked eye.

Rest of hte dial is near flawless with one small bubble, otherwise perfect!

The movement itself is absolutely fabulous, a 680 with barely any use. A bunch of dried oil here and there, but otherwise pretty nice. I'm excited to get it through the cleaning machine and back together!

The Automatic works, and mostly the date change works are absolutely super cool little sub-assemblies. Omega did some fantastic work on this movement.
