    hey guys,

I've been thinking about a jumbo for a while.. something 37-39mm, preferrably closer to the 39mm. I really like the ones with Arabic markers rather than just arrow markers or a mix. something like this would be perfect in the right size:

    unknown2.jpg

I seem to keep coming back to something in the 2505 series, but I really don't know what is out there.

i have read through several threads here and elsewhere, but many of them end just when things are getting interesting.

I'd love to see some (especially 38.5-39mm, but 37 is ok too! 36 and smaller are out sadly). I'm not a huge fan of gold, prefer steel (or white gold!). if you post a pic, please include reference number. as I start to dig into this more, that sure would be helpful.

I was also wondering if all the 39mm jumbos are cal.266?

here's some random Google images to get things going..

    Dunno the reference, but nice

2482-7 the patina is almost like gold leafing and looks great with the hour markers. Obviously finding one with that patina would be damn near impossible but still would be my choice because I think the hour markers look great with the case patina'd dial or no. And the lugs have a minor Vacheron flair to them.

No. I think he's talking about the ones powered by 30 mm movements.

Rose gold filled. 39 mm, caliber 266. You're not buying, but that's okay! I'm not selling!

Here are "before and after" photos of a 38mm won on an Ebay auction gamble, complete with the crummy auction photos.

Yes, the watchmaker kindly provided the photo for me before sending it back after it's rehab.

He'd installed a 19mm strap which I changed out for the vintage pigskin after the watch arrived.

Sharing my unusual (I think.....and as it is very hard to find any info on it) 2539-2 cal. 361. Beautiful patina to my eye. Represents almost my entire "dress watch" collection!

One question for our experts......I realize the hands are not matching . One is an alpha and one is leaf (or so I have been told). If true, which do you believe is correct and how hard are they to source vintage? Impossible?

From the pix above, appears alpha is the likely correct one?

    Thanks!

IMO it should have leaf hands.
As your minute hands looks a bit weird I would replace the complete play with a correct leaf hands play - they show up on ebay from time to time...

maybe 30T2 by itself didn’t sound as good next to all those expensive subs so they added the RG.

ok, so I keep finding these being sold as 2505-2.

is there any certainty that a 2505-2 would come with this dial (and if it doesn't have this dial, then it's incorrect)?

is 9m the right serial range for 2505-2?

    2505-2b.jpg

it's definitely this one I'd like to find..
