Hi everyone, I came across this interesting vintage Omega Jumbo 18k rose gold that I would like to buy. Potentially it is the reference 2877, according to the seller's description.

Do you think it’s genuine? In your opinioni, are the components original or at least period-correct? Any idea of a fair price range for buying it?

Thanks a lot for your support with this purchase!

Several things not to like about this watch:

1. The hallmark on the outside of the case screams South American made case. The markings on the inside look recent and crude.

2. The caseback should be beveled, not flat. The lugs have a totally different shape than other example of this reference.

3. Dial has been refinished in a more modern style.

4. The “Omega” buckle suppled is a cheap Asian fake.

5. When I looked up the reference number on Google, the watch you are interested in showed up on multiple auction sites around the world. That’s usually a sign that it is hard to sell (probably for reasons as mentioned above).

There is another watch of the same case reference for sale to compare:

Yeah, I’m not loving the example you picked.
