Omega information?

This is a recent graduation gift to myself for getting my Master's degree. It's from 1980, with cal. 1343. I know Scott Carpenter was an owner of one of these, and that they sold for a crazy amount when new at $2,400 in 1980. Does anyone know any additional information on these? Looks quite inspired from the Marine Chronometer quartz.

Would also be curious to see if there's any tangible difference in cal 1342 (non-chronometer) versus the 1343 chronometer version. Perhaps more effort was utilized in quartz crystal selection for the chronometer versions? I know that in the 1980s TC wasn't a requirement to achieve the Quartz chronometer standards of the time.

Thanks in advance!
