Hello all, I’m interested to hear your thoughts regarding the following unusual omega watch: https://www.visionvintagewatches.com/product-page/1957-s-omega-deluxe-guilloche This is a 1957 Omega Guilloche Deluxe...Is this done on a rose engine? How are these things usually priced? This is a watch I’ve never seen before so I’m curious to learn a bit about it. Thanks!
I imagine you price it an 18k gold case with an 18k gold dial (which is usually a fairly high price) and then add a premium for the dial. And then you subtract from that the value lost from damage, replacement parts, etc.
Looks like a fantasy dial. The crosshairs extending below the Subdial is a dead giveaway of a sloppy redial... Among many other red flags.
Interesting, I thought the crosshair was meant to slope gently with the subdial. The sellers says that the dial is original and untouched, and is supposedly a reputable vintage seller. What are the other red flags?
Not a fan of that dial. All that glitters is not gold. I would want to see the underside of that dial. I was able to find two other examples of this reference online. http://www.littlecogs.com/watch-omega-01-afs.html https://www.oreficerialupetta.it/shoponline/orologi/scheda_3205_omega_-_omega_classico_14367.htm Neither have anything resembling a gold guilloche dial. Just doesn’t seem right to me. gatorcpa
