    149mm :eek: You'd need to wear a clown's jacket to have pockets that size.

    Mind you if it fits in the seller's hand so comfortably, I think we can guess his returns policy.

    Looks more like a movement meant for a ship's chronometer rather than a pocketwatch. I'm sure there was some use for a watch this size 100 years ago that escapes us today.

    I always assumed that they were fitted into a small travel case and be the equivalent of an 18th early 19th cent. travelling clock.
    Smaller, easier to wind, less likely to get battered and more accurate.
    Not in a boat I think, they aren't chronometers.
    I'm interested to hear any other ideas.

    If you get mugged you can whip it out and bonk someone in the head with it, probably handy in bad neighbourhoods

    The older I get the more I like those big numbers. Can't get longer arms, guess I'll get a bigger watch. ::facepalm2::
