Very nice watch. Gold case, high quality movement.

I have to start dinner now but will follow up tomorrow unless you get some more advice.

Why such a big difference of numbers between the movement and the case?

pocket watches aren't "assembled" like modern wrist watches. Movements would often be individually cased either by the factory or by the jeweller from where you purchased the watch (from viewing a number of display watches).

You'd chose the movement and case to suit your budget/taste and go from there. Whilst you might pay a premium for a factory cased pocket watch there is no real difference.

    My guesses.

A 14K Hunter gold case (the Squirrel) made by/for Omega with a serial that dates to about 1913 or so.
An enamel dial with Louis XV hands and Paris style arabic numerals.
The movement serial dates the watch to between 1894 to 1902 and in limited numbers up to 1916 so it's possible that the date would be somewhere near 1910 to 1915 when it met the case.
I think the movement is a caliber 19''' xxxx with snail cam adjuster, but I'd need to know the actual diameter of the movement to go any further.

    A very nice item.
