I am selling my Omega Geneve. Movement number is 27953422 case number 166.041 and dates to 1968. Movement is cal 565 24 jewel. I believe the watch has the original dial, hands and crown. I have owned this for several years and only known defect is regarding the date wheel. Several numbers between 5 and 14 are faded if not gone. It has been a great daily wear watch and the lack of these numerals has never been an issue for me. I am selling watch only...no strap. Service history unknown but running well and keeping time. http://www.omegawatches.com/spirit/history/vintage-omegas/vintage-watches-database?ref=14369 Asking $425 including shipping within CONUS via USPS. Payment thru paypal and I cover fees.
Guaranteed prediction: Between now and the time you sell this, there will be no less than (3) noobs sign up and ask if an = or < watch for more $ is a good buy on ebay.
That is quite true....we were all noobs at one time. The truly funny thing is that I have already seen it happen more than once on another forum that shall remain nameless. No big deal really. If it doesn't sell at this price I will just keep it for a while longer.
I agree, it is better to be lucky than smart. I'm sure we all have a story to share of our life paths. Yours is a good one, that you'll never forget. I think we got sidetracked...Hondaman is just trying to sell his watch.
I too have seen it, even here on occasion. Like you said..."No big deal really."... We do the best we can, with what we know and have. Sometimes, it just doesn't work out. Hopefully, someone will be along and snap your watch up. BTW, didn't mean to highjack your thread with an unrelated exchange of thoughts.
As a newbie here I rather like these posts ... educational, funny. Trying not to inevitable just yet ...
Sorry. I don't have a wrist shot but do have a couple of pics that may help. One on a black strap the other on a mesh bracelet.
