Dear Omega Forum,

As I already own a wonderful Seamaster thanks to you, I wanted to ask if this Geneve is legit and your opinion on it. is it gold-plated or gold? How about the condition in your opinion?

Cheers and many thanks in advance!

It is gold-filled (at least not gold), looks like 1972. 111.0108 is the reference.

here is someone selling a similar one (with a little bit of a worn crown: https://www.ebay.com/itm/388538709732).

Case on this one seems reasonable, though the lug at 11 oclock looks a little bent to me, or at least poorly polished on the inside. The dial doesn't have the 'pop' that the one on ebay has though, so perhaps a bit dingy?

Movement picture isn't very good/detailed, but it at least looks reasonable and has everything. The few things I CAN see out of it shows that it probably needs a service (there are some hairs 😀 ).

"PLAQUE OR G 20 MICRON" seems to indicate that it is gold plated with a gold thickness of 20 microns. That seems to put it in the gold plated category as opposed to the gold filled world. But I'm no expert.

Quite correct, Omega Case Metal Code "MD" indicates "Plated 20M yellow, steel back".
