I have inherited this Omega Geneve and I don't know the first thing about it or its value. I know it is from around the 1960's or 70's and it has only ever been worn a handful of times and is in immaculate condition. I am told both the watch and the strap are 9crt gold. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks
With that Geneve font, late 50s to early 60s would be more acurate. Looks to be in outstanding condition...some better (closer) pictures of the dial and seeing the inside of the case back (watchmaker helpful here) would tell more.
Thanks for the info Hijak. I will try get some more pictures and yes it is in outstanding condition, almost like new. Would you have any idea of its value?
Without a movement pic $ 250ish http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Gold-Plated-Working-Wristwatch-Automatic-Geneve-/281526863986Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I have to disagree with that, these early first generation Geneve watches are somewhat sought after. And in the condition of this piece I think it would get quite a bit more than $250. Better pictures would help this much.
Not even close to the same watch. You're comparing a 70s gold plated, over polished with the wrong crown Geneve to a first generation 9k gold Geneve that looks to be in very good condition.
3 whats it worth. Just trying to give him hes figure with one photo and a Hint to look on Ebay. (Hijak i agree with you completly)
Thanks, I had a look on eBay and couldn't find anything similar with the same style font of Geneve. Will try get some more photos up in the next day or so, appreciate your help guys
That's because these early Geneves are not as common as the later ones. Better pictures are a good move and will get you more help here. Are you looking to sell this or just looking for information?
