    Hello,

I have looking for a 36mm Geneve First gen for quite some time.
I quite like this one but I would like your expert opinions to make sure I do not miss anything.. =)

http://www.befr.ebay.be/itm/221630002888?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

It looks original to me and case + movement look quite ok.
    What do you think?

Thanks for your help and have a nice day.

I will let one of the experts chime in on the case and movement. Some people like speckled or freckled dials, others think they look more like acne or warts. If you like the dial, you are the one that will be looking at it multiple times a day, then go for it.

Personally I don't normally like spotted dials but this one has a nice even aging that I think add character.

I also like the way the dial aged, it is a nice vintage look.
    Thanks for your advice.

It looks correct, though the reference number is not easy to read. Likely a (correct) 2748, but you might want to ask for a clearer photo. The dial patina issue is of course subjective, but if you are OK with it, then it will probably be a good one to pursue. The case looks to be in nice shape, as the chamfers – one of the distinguishing features of this model – are well preserved.

    Cheers,

    Tony C.

Its a good size, as most are 34 mm. Lots of these Geneve's have these dial lacquer issues - not sure if any member has tried to clean these successfully - i,ve left mine alone.

So depends on whether you can live with the patina, as others have mentioned - and price - and factor in another € 120 for a service too

Thanks. I feel better about placing a bid =)
    Your avatar looks good too!

I think I like it the way it is but it might be interesting to hear from other members and maybe see some before / after picture.
Price is okay at the moment.

    Hello Everyone,

First, let me wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for the year to come.

I have received my Omega mentionned above and I am really happy with it so I wanted to share a few pictures with you as you helped me to confirm the bid.

Watch is amazing, nice size and the applied indices are gorgeous when reflecting the light.

What do you think about the black cordovan strap?
Personnally, I like it very much as it gives it a nice vintage touch and it is slim as the shape of the watch.
It is also very comfortable of course =)

Looks great, and the case is in excellent shape, and yes, the solid 18K gold markers are just magic on these

    Mine (cal 491, 2981, 34 mm, from 1958 ) says hello!

Edit - a little polywatch to clean the crystal will work wonders!
