Omega Genevé Dynamic bracelet/link

Hey!

So im trying to scour the world of watches of some new links or a new bracelet for my Omega Geneve Dynamic.

Now the one i have is fairly small and reaches i would say about 17cm around the wrist, which is okay, but i’d like to aquire either a new bracelet thats larger or an extra link.

Now when reading through various posts it seems the correct bracelets should be something like a 1317/378 or 1153/138.

Now to the question ahead.

Ok the photo you’ll see a picture of the bracelet and its number and it reads out DX.1381.770

Could someone explain why it differs so much from other serial numbers. Is this the correct original bracelet and where is the best place to find such links/bracelets?

Appreciate all answers and engagement in my post!

best

-R

The dynamic is a little tougher to find a bracelet for, as the bracelet is VERY specific to the model. It doesn't really HAVE end-links, as the 'connection' point is actually part of the bracelet, instead of the watch, and there is a screw on-ring on the back of the watch that holds it all together. This makes bracelet/strap changes different. AND, it means the ID numbers (the bracelet number -slash- endlink) doesn't really apply?

As an example THIS is what your bracelet looks like (note this is missing a clasp, but it is what I found easy enough on ebay:

It allows straps that look like this (same as above, just a link I found on ebay):

FORTUNATELY there is a great aftermarket for these for some reason. There are quite a few companies that sell aftermarket versions of these straps (none I can give review of), but more importantly, plenty of leather straps (which, IMO, are WAY Better on these).

Oh okay i see, thank you for that explanation.

I did wonder if the connection point was part of the bracelet as well.

But i also see there is a pin at the connection point that maybe makes it possible to fit a new one in.

I found this on ebay as well, but im not sure it its legit or not https://www.ebay.com/itm/317715159860

Also do like the leather ones on this model i agree.

I don't believe those pins are supposed to be 'removable' there, but of course, anything is possible with the right tools.

No idea about the authenticity of that bracelet in the ebay link, though, I have my doubts.

I went through a dynamic phase, and know these quite well.

The bracelet on your watch is a replacement and not original to the watch. Both the bracket and bracelet appear to be aftermarket. The clasp appears to be from another model (1980s). The bracelet in the ebay listing is fake and similar to the one you have on your watch presently.

That being said, the bracelets are attached with small springbars to the bracket that fits into the watch. They can be removed and you sometimes see them for sale separately. If you need a genuine bracelet, it’s probably best to buy a complete one with the bracket or a junker dynamic with a good bracelet. Links can be a bit tricky to find, but in my experience even short gen. bracelets are bigger than 17cm.

Thank you for deeper info! Thats what i was considering now, to rather find a bracket/bracelet + clasp from a junk-Dynamic watch.

I wouldn't give up the search so easily. I like the Dynamic on a strap from a mod 70s style perspective, but it's a better daily wear watch on a bracelet. Do you just need a single link?

This thread reminded me that I purchased a dynamic bracelet a year ago but when it arrived it just wouldn’t seat itself in the inner ring of the watch case properly. It’s just a fraction of a millimeter or two too large on the outer ring (the bracelet fits the inner ring of the watch just not the outer), which made me think that either I had been duped and purchased a fake or that the bracelets are different depending on the reference number… I’m still in the dark about it so thought I’d jump on this thread and see if anyone knew…

The bracelet reference number is 1153/138
The watch is a 135.033 from 1968

Bracelet looks good to my eye. I have noticed some tolerance issues in the past that I couldn’t explain. When i swapped bracelets between cases I was able to make an odd bracelet or two work with another case. You made need to slightly file/modify it.

I used to have a Dynamic bracelet that I purchased with one watch, and sold it with another. Both Gen 1 cases. No issues fitting it. Glad It only took a little filing to fix this one.

@rdegrassi , I'm still a fan of the straps though. Thin and light, and seem to fit the 70s vibe better. In addition to the OEM and aftermarket leather straps, I've been able to find a couple of the No.27 Omega single deployant straps, though I haven't seen one for sale in quite some time.

Oh no i have not given up! Im scouring markets for both bracelets and straps! Some of these are absolutely stunning! Its just it sits a little tight on 17cm on my wrist, although wearable i was just trying to see if one link could be added for lenght, but i see now the whole bracket needs to be changed, making it a little more difficult, but an exciting search nontheless!
