Omega Geneve Crystal Replacement?

I'm looking to replace the crystal on my Omega Geneve wristwatch, case ref. number being 166.098. I believe it uses a 31.6mm crystal. Upon doing research I see that the original crystal model is the PX5200, unfortunately I'm unable to find one. I've come across an PX5005 crystal, which also measures 31.6mm. Does anyone know if I would be able to fit it without any problems?

Have you tried cousinsuk.com? A watchmaker with an Omega account?
I don't know about trading crystals. It seems to me every crystal is designed with the case in mind, The tension ring also has to be taken into consideration.

Thank you for your responses!

I gave cousins a look and they do in fact have one in stock. Thanks for the suggestion!

Al, If I understand correctly the crystal should fit the case, but protrude higher than the original by just under 1mm? I wouldn't particularly mind that, especially since I'd be able to source the PX5005 for half the cost of the PX5200 (Student budget, haha).

Thanks to the OF hivemind for sorting this out years ago, always a great resource!

As of posting (2025) Cousins has the part but restricts the sale of it because the manufacturer requires them to...

Hate going to eBay for parts when we want to support the watch supply stores.
That is not what that message on the Cousins site means. Omega stopped supplying parts to third party resellers like Cousins back in 2015. Cousins is only selling the stock they had from back in 2015, and they cannot order more - that is what they mean when they say the brand restricts the sale - not to you, but to them. They don't have the part - if they did they would sell it to you.

Omega continues to sell parts directly to watchmakers, so if you can find and Omega certified watchmaker, they can order and install it for you.
