    Hi Guys,
My first post here so please be gentle. I've been offered this old Geneve for less than £100.
I love watches, however I know little about them beyond their aesthetics and what I've read on various posts on the forum.

I'd really appreciate your feed back on this one. Is it worth the money, does it look in good condition, is it a re-dial etc.

    Thanks a bunch in advance,
    Mike

100 pounds for a calibre 565 anything, particularly with such a clean looking movement and original dial, is excellent buying.

Definitely! You can pay more than that just for a movement.

Great stuff. Thanks for the advice guys. It was more of 'I like the look of it' sort of purchase, not just the movement.
Reassuring to hear though so thanks.
Not intending to sell on, just something I can wear and keep for years.

Very good movement and from what I can see the rest is all ok. I can only echo the others and recommend you buy at that price.

    Congratulations.
Family 5xx movement is very hard to kill. Service costs and repairs are not expensive. The watch should serve you for many years.

Looks like the rotor has been scraping on the movement, indicating a worn bushing. It's possible this has been fixed and it's not longer scraping, but in any case I would look at getting the watch serviced, rather than just wearing it as is.

    Cheers, Al

Still well worth buying even with Al's advice for a £120 service.
