I recently became interested in vintage omegas. I scoured this forum for information on the 2748, but found really only about a dozen posts and it was tough to get a price history as well.

From what I can tell, these don't come up for sale that often. But what do you guys think?

To my totally inexpert eye, the reasons I bought were:
-waffle dial that I don't think has been refinished
-matching hands in terms of patina/age
-matching hour markers to the hands
-correct movement serial for the model
-larger 36 mm size of the 2748 which is more rare than the smaller 34mm

    Negatives to me:
    -9 o'clock marker
    -case looks dinged up
-the crown looks off to me
-international seller, i think i'm gonna get a tax bill from uncle sam

Any thoughts would be hugely appreciated and hope you guys don't mind the noob post!

    Poorly refinished dial.

Oh man, that's disappointing. What are the reasons you say that (I'm trying to learn).

edit- oh and thanks for your input, greatly appreciate it :)

Completely incorrect font. This is what it should look like:

Great to know, thank you! I couldn't find that many photos here and thought that perhaps there were variations on the dial over the years. Live and learn! Probably too late to give it back :).
