I'm sure this watch isnt very exciting to most but was affordable for me. Iv got a couple questions about how correct it is tho, it's a stainless ref 166.041 cal 565. I got it off the bay as non running. When I got it home, I pulled the balance and found out a screw got either dropped in the case by accident or something because that was the reason it wouldn't run.. it's back together now and running great. Question #1 is do you guys think the plate with the cal number is original (it's got a different hue then the rest of the movement)? My second question is from googling and looking at other watches of the same reference, the hands on this watch arent correct, which ones would be? Any help is appreciated thanks

These are great watches. They’re accurate, have a quick change date, good power reserve and comparatively inexpensive to service.

    Here’s mine, also with a 565 movement.

However, unless you are trained to do it, and from your post I suspect you aren’t, quite what you thought you were doing ‘tinkering’ with the delicate movement of an Omega classic, is beyond me.

Comparing yours with mine, and I have a couple, your hour and minute hands appear to be replacements and the sweep hand end is missing and it looks, in your photo, to be bent. Yours is a mid/late 60s watch and parts may have been cleaned or replaced at an earlier stage.

For what it’s worth, send it to a watch repairer for service and replacement hands.

Excellent, thank you. Your right, I'm not trained but do like to tinker. I bought it thinking the balance was broken so I got pretty lucky
