Update on the watch:

Local reccomended watch maker has said £450-500 to service and make right and 12-14 weeks to complete. For that kind of money I think ill just bite the bullet and send it to Omega as its a fixed price, they will do EVERYTHING and they give a 24 month warranty.

Report is it needs automatic parts replacing, plus the Crystal is incorrect for the watch so will be replaced

They might destroy the originality too. I would take the independent route. Too many stories of Omega replacing the hands just because, even though instructed not to.

Don’t be too sure about that. The fixed pricing is only assured for reasonably modern stuff ie from the 80s onwards. Omega do reserve the right to charge more for an older vintage piece like this, the 565 movement has been out of use since ~1972 after all. You might find that in fact the bill is 4 figures but I guess if you don’t ask you won’t know and they will quote before doing anything.

I’d be sending that to Mitka or Christian since otherwise you’ll spend as much as it’s worth. Or more.

Well since they are professional watchmakers I guess they may have better things to do. You seem a pretty hard guy to help. Suit yourself.
