Any first or secondhand info on how long it takes for an extract to be generated and sent from Bienne? Trying to time my order with travel plans for this summer.

Thanks all! Have to think this is slower in the summer. But solid info ...good to know.

@Togri v. 2.0 – Or anyone else in the EU – did you need to pay MOMS / VAT or import duty on arrival? OMEGA mentions this will be necessary, as VAT isn't added to the purchase price from the start.

No, I wasn't charged MOMS/VAT or anything and I didn't investigate any further :) Perhaps it was because it was in an envelope and looked like an ordinary letter. Or perhaps there is no MOMS/VAT on services like that. I don't know :)

Weird that there is even a button for this...

;) ...good to know. I wanted to order in advance, but didn't want family or friends to be hassled at the post office with the whole payment-before-release show. We'll see what happens!

They need time to travel back in time. Dont worry, the information provided is close to useless. Unless you are asking the extract for an special edition watch say ultraman, racing, etc. Else I would say dont bother, they can only give you two extra info, which is the date of delivery and location of delivery.

It's some degree of validation that your watch was not a project I suppose. But date and delivery location alone would make it worth it to me... because curiosity.

Other than date and destination, an extract validates that the movement (or at least the bridge) matches the case reference. Sometimes they will include info about bracelet and endlinks too, but I've only seen that on '69+.

..but I like having them. :D

(Edit: for non-LE"s or special versions)
