Hi, The Omega extract from the archives has arrived for my 1915 40mm + - confirmed wristwatch. Delivered to Bohemia. Cheers Russell.
Here are some pictures of the movement and inside the caseback which also has a hinged dust cover as well.
Realy a nice watch ! Please don't slap me, but I just wonder if Omega has converted pocket watches into wristwatches as a new product or if a watchmaker did it at that time for customers ?
Hi, The inside of the case back is stamped Depose 9846 which from my understanding is that this was the first patent for fixed lugs on a wristwatch. So the way I see this it was intended to be a wristwatch from when it was made in the Omega Factory. Always open to suggestions. Cheers.
What a beauty! I am looking for a Borgel watch for some time, which is somehow similar. Do you know if the crown is original? The Borgel cased watches always had this onion crown, that's why I'm asking.
Yes the Borgel cased watches do normally have an onion crown. This crown could of been replaced at some time in its 100 plus year history I'm not sure if it is original. I have a few Borgel cased watches. Cheers.
