First off, apologies for the disoriented near hijack of another “should I buy this from eBay” thread. I cracked a molar, so the painkillers are playing tricks on me. I had thought that the OP in that thread was looking at this Dynamic watch. I responded accordingly as I’m interested in it, but lo and behold, not this one at all. Ahem.

So, now I really am curious! Does this dial hold up to scrutiny? No interior photos ... de rigeuer for these front loafers...sorry. I think the make-or-break on this is its face and for this racing style, I really would like a clean original. So, whatcha think? The fonts look right to me, minute markers, crusty lume...I want to say “yes” but the codeine may be doing my interpretation!

    Hi Mike,
I can understand why you are hesitant with this racing dial, it's probably the most copied/faked of all the Dynamics. I have just bought one myself (not racing dial) and I really struggled trying to work out whether it was authentic. In the end I took a gamble because i had little time to make up my mind. Even when you study Desmond's blog you notice inconsistencies between different dials. If I had to guess I would say this one is good but please don't take my word for it. Have you seen the one for sale on OF at the moment?
    Good luck
    Roy

This one originally bought from the illustrious 'squirrel', himself, (ulackfocus) and he had bought it from another well-known member himself, so originality wouldn't be an issue with this one. Recent full service by my guy, too...

Yes, thank you! I’ve been going back and forth considering your watch. How funny that it originally belonged to ulackfocus! What a character he is! Never been able to figure out why he split. The only thing holding me back from making you an offer is that I really want a steel bracelet. And I’ve been spending like crazy on these things. Thinking, thinking...

Hiya, Roy! Thanks for getting back to me! I keep going back and forth on these two. Of course, I have eminently more faith in the one Dougie is selling and should just pay the man. I’m just not relishing the idea of buying that one and then wanting a steel bracelet, though.

So, that leaves me considering the one on eBay where my eyes started playing tricks on me. What am I seeing? ...real?...redone?...real...redone? Currently, my wallet is thanking me for the paralysis this has brought on!

So which one did you buy recently? I’ve got two bullseyes and one with sort of a sparkly blue face. If I buy this racing dial, I better divest two!

I apologize for the late acknowledgment and response to my inquiry. For some reason the system didn’t notify me that I had any bites! The thought crossed my mind today: I should go see if wrote something inadvertently provocative. Happy to find two responses!

It seems you've been bitten by the Dynamic bug!
You have some nice examples there and I particularly like the grey bulls eye in the middle.
As for the Ebay watch if your not 100% it's probably best given a wide berth. Nothing worse than unpacking a parcel only to find you've inadvertently bought a redial.

The one I bought is currently sat at the mail depot waiting for me to collect .... exciting!!
It's a series one with a white deluxe dial mounted on what I think is an original bracelet. I'm getting good vibes about this one so hopefully it meets my expectations. I will post up some pics tomorrow.
In the meantime good luck with whatever you decide on the racing dial.

I love Dynamics. Here’s my collection. Sorry the photographs are rubbish! I haven’t got a decent camera or phone at the moment. I’ll post some better ones when I get a camera if anyone’s interested.

The one in the Dynamic box is the solid 18kt case as is the one at the bottom right of the case.

Mike. It’s worth looking for a steel bracelet if that’s what you’re after. They do come up for sale. You can get a new one here

Wow Andy that is one impressive collection. Lovin the solid grey and black versions. I am new to Dynamics but really starting to fall for their quirkiness. With so many options to collect I can see this becoming addictive.
The one I've just bought is the same as your top left but with date.

Thanks Roy. I think that they are great to collect. Not too expensive and lots of attractive dials that really give the watch a different look. Sounds like you’re addicted already! Good luck with the collection.

It’s weird...I don’t know why this design appeals to me so much! As an 80s child, I was pretty much totally turned off by anything late 60s/early 70s: music, fashion, architecture, politics. Ironic that these watches then pluck my heart strings! I’m dying to see what’s waiting for you at the post office! Please put up pics when it arrives!

What an amazing collection! Each piece is so cool! I love the alternating bullseye ones! Even the boxes are great! Really impressive! Thanks for the lead on the bracelet. Thinking, thinking...

Never seen that one before. I’m in full-on covet for the gray faced, sparkly one!

Update: I pulled the trigger and bought the racing dial one from @dougiedude on here! Thanks, Doug! Now, I need to adjust my budget again to cover for this crazily addictive habit! I really, really need to move a couple of the others on now!

Thanks Mike. Glad you’ve done the deal with Doug. There are still good buys out there for Dynamics and I think that they are a good buy. My prediction is that they’re going to get more popular
