    I've got a 166.108 with a 3474xxxxx s.n. (c. 1972) with a similar dial. This is the oval case with smoothed, rounded sides as opposed to the radial textured, edged oval of the late '60s

    Bought it off fleaBay where it was posted with the obligatory bad, out of focus pictures. When I received the watch I was concerned because the font on the dial was not to the norm specified by Desmond in his excellent essay on Dynamics. The 'A' in 'AUTOMATIC' has a point rather than a flat apex. My eyes and my watchmaker (who worked at an Omega center back in the '70s and '80s) tell me it's not a redial.

    I've yet to make some close-ups of the dial but here's a shot from a couple of days ago:
