Omega double signed redials

Greetings OF,

Have tried to look around the forums for information pertaining to this topic but to no avail.

Have there been any instances of redials for double signed for vintage Omega pieces (specifically Turler and Meister as they tend to pop up abit more often than the rest)? My guess would be no as it does not really (significantly) add to the value of the watch as compared to others such as Tiffany and Co, or Cartier so there would be not much point in even doing this.

I appreciate your input on this 😀

Yes there have been suspected double signed redials seen. If you search on the Tiffany threads there is talk of a particular dealer who seems to mostly stock double signed pieces which is suspicious in itself. I don’t think it is limited to Tiffany either.

I’ve been curious about why there seem to be a lot of Türler and Meister dials on Omegas floating around in Japan—did they have a branch in Asia? I agree that counterfeiting them would be pointless. I tend to think the Türler logo looks pretty nice on a Seamaster or Constellation dial, while Meister looks kind of gracelessly stamped on.

Yes most are for Tiffany or Cartier, I still see tons of them especially for Rolex but they are rather easy to spot..but if I were to counterfeit double signed watches I won't be doing it for Turler/Meister since it doesn't significantly increase the value of the watch.

Was wondering exactly that as well. I understand that old time dealers in Japan used to arbitrage purchasing vintage pieces from the US or Europe and selling it back in Japan in the past, but that was still not a valid reason for the large influx of double signed Omegas. Unless they really brought in THAT many in the past..

Picked up a Meister Constellation recently from Japan hence the question.

That particular example looks a lot better than what I was describing.
