Why do we not hear much about this watch in the forum? A large 41 mm sporty Connie with a beautiful dial and bracelet containing a co-axial movement seems like a winner but for some reason it seems rarely discussed here and apparently out of production. I assume it was not popular but why? I understand the Manhattan claws weren't popular to some but the ones on the Double Eagle look robust and blend well with the robust bezel.
I am a fan, and I would definitely wear one if I owned it. There are simply to many other watches that I would prefer to own to justify buying one. But, if someone was to gift me one I assure you it would get some wrist time!
Only one opinion here, but its styling features do not appeal. Purposeless wretched excess comes to mind. Maybe in 60 years it will be appreciated.
The Manhattan Claws and the heavy bezel with the chiseled Roman numerals duplicating the hour markers that are already on the dial affect me in much the same way as do the tail fins on the '59 Cadillac. The case shape is uninspiring to me. Not too keen on the styling of the bracelet that is provided for most of them. This is only one view though and I didn't write the book on watch styling.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one. The repeated Roman numerals on the bezel drive me away instantly. I like funky but not that kind of funk.
