There is absolutely no way it came from the factory like that. Some of the damage looks like impact with other watches during storage. Maybe scratched by the previous owner/dealer.

Looks like the previous owner chewed that up and had it refinished to hide the damage the best they could...

If it looks like that, you should still be covered under factory warranty for manufacturer defect. That doesn't seem to be a manufacturer defect though. What does OB say about it?

Can you share some pictures of the watch, or of the clasp for that bracelet?

I'd certainly be reviewing the use of term "impeccable source" going forward 👎

I think this falls into the category of caveat emptor. You bought a one year old watch from a stranger- assuming it was LNIB (did they say it was “new” or just “full kit”) and didn’t give it a good once over until two years later?

I have purchased only a couple new watches in my life but when I have, I put everything I peel off of it in the box and put that in the closet. When I have/ if I sold them, I could easily put the stickers back on and make it look like a new presentation again.
I hate to say it, but I think this should just be chalked up to a learning experience.

Why does it look like its covered in drool?
It's ectoplasm from the Poltergeist that got a hold of it.

Many thanks , spoke to Omega and taking it to Dealership for examination
At first I thought it had " stickers " on that had perished but Omega says
the dont use stickers except on case back and crystal but i am sure Ive seen
" stickers " on Omega's ? Omega Dealer who sold it extremely evasive and
refuses to say they sold it ( I have their signed card )

What a mystery! I reread your first post, and my jaw dropped when I read that one link is cracked. I don’t know how something like that can happen.

Hi res photos aren't very forgiving or flattering, are the marks visible with a naked eye?
I ask because I don’t know how bad, bad actually is here

I agree with Archer. The bracelet looks refinished and not in a good way.

John, I know you want to believe the fault lies with Omega on this and that the seller was honest with you, but they weren’t.

This watch has been worn pretty hard

And the marks on the clasp are normal wear and tear that has been rebrushed

The brushing is courser than factory brushing if you compare it to pics of the same watch.

You may end up being “that asshole” if you bring this into an Omega boutique and make a stink. They will probably tell you the same thing- it’s been worn, it has been refinished and packed back up for sale.

Did you buy this from an Omega dealer? Was it sold specifically as “New” or “like new in box”? If not, “near mint” or any descriptor beyond is subjective.

The watch has been worn, abused, and then poorly polished. This watch did not leave Switzerland looking like this.

Please clarify just what type of sale this was, private party/dealer or Official Authorized Omega Dealer (like one that sells new watches with warranty)?
