The watch is in mint condition I'll upload some pictures later in the meantime I have my first question I will only wear the watch at weekends due to my job, should I therfore by a watchwinder box to keep perfect time.

Thank you in advance for any input

Personal choice really. A watch winder will prevent you from having to wind and set the watch every weekend, that's for sure. Check out Wolf Designs.

btw, do you drive an Aventador? :)

Hi aventador...Congratulations ! Yippie! We share the same passion for Omega. Yes, aventador i just bought a SMP 41 mm CoAxial black dial with the ceramic bezel for my bf just like yours yesterday! How much did You buy the timepiece for ? I had a shock when the Retailer told me the price had gone up by RM 1100.00 on the 12.1.2016
(~ USD 250 ) .The Malaysian currency is spiralling downwards against the greenback from US1 ~RM3.20 a yr ago to US 1~4.30 at the current rate!!! Domestic political scandals & rampant corruption among the ruling coalition Government & the drop in oil export revenues are making people angry & frustrated at the rising cost of living. So i ended up purchasing the Omega at RM13100.00.Thats about ~US 3000.00. Its a Beautiful Timepiece!! I feel the 41mm ( not the 36mm) will look great on me. Am i weird if i tell people i prefer the mens timepieces over the ladies...? Oh Never Mind......

I was the same as you..then something changed. I realized I LOVED the idea of once a week picking up this lovely piece, unwinding the crown setting the time, date and winding it. Reminds you its a 'real' watch if you know what I mean. I say wear it for a while then decide if you want a winder.

Let it rest when not being worn was the advice an old watch dealer once told me. I have followed that advice without regret.

If I may weigh in one more time on this...although I have a 3 watch winder and used it for quite a while, I have been letting them 'rest when not being worn' as so well stated by DTM. I wear the automatics, currently 5 of them, in rotation, and don't put them in the winder any longer. There's something about taking out a watch after a few weeks, setting and winding it, that is satisfying.

As Edith Ann used to say, "And that's the truth."

Personal preference, but that is what I like about the no dates and the fact you only have to set the time.

Congratulations on getting this watch - I got the exact same one for Christmas!! I obviously wore it during the holiday period, but now only wear it at weekends due to my job too and aim to keep it as new.

I personally want to be able to put my watch on without the need to set the time / date each time and to save any wear 'n tear on the crown (not that there would be any), so have just (yesterday) ordered a watch winder (Barrington) to keep it running during the week. Also, a winder may be useful if you have more than one automatic watch?

Back in 1997, I bought a new Rolex Submariner date which I owned for 10 years and have to say that this OMEGA is a lot more attractive to own and wear, but wish I purchased a winder as it (the Rolex) used to be shut away in a drawer because I couldn't be bothered to wind / set it etc.

If you do end up getting a winder, according to the FAQ's within the OMEGA Customer Services area, the calibre 2500 needs 800 Bi-Directional Turns Per Day (TDP).
