I'm always drawn to unusual things... (explains my taste in women! ;) ) So a friend (even more unusual than me.. hoarder of vintage teddybears..no laughs please..) asked if I wanted a watch that he'd had for many years and never worn (He wears Cartier or Pateks :() for a small fee..

I really thought it was unusual. But whenever I think that something is rare or unusual I am usually not sure of its authenticity, anyways, here is the watch bearing in mind I actually love its design if a little flouncy it looks really cool on the wrist. See what you guys think!
I can't really capture the dial, it has an almost holographic effect and different colours in various lights. To do it justice would be near impossible.
    Good day respectable members :whistling:

Another interesting thing is the marked difference in width between the 1 and the 11 hour..

Perhaps an error in marker selection by the technician setting up the dial?

Yes, it must be. It seems very strange as its the same if you look closely in the b/w picture..all other markers seem to have the same symmetry..

Interesting that its a floral dial like that, there are a few round dial De Villes with that pattern too

I've searched and only come up with the round ones. I saw a SS and GP with Roman numerals but I think it was a quartz..this is definitely mechanical - I can hear its tick!

Hard to see from the pictures, but is it possible that one of the markers was lost during a service and then replaced with a slightly different one?

Had that happen with a watch I purchased and didn't notice in the original picture that it was a replacement:

See if you can spot the replacement,

Presumably it's the 4 marker? Is the wear on (can't tell from the pic if its wear or the light?) it a give away as well? as the materials probably aren't as durable? Cool watch though. TBH, with the DeVille I really like it enough to not care. For starters its's womens watch, and also, I've not seen any online so I guess I'll never really know. But the fasination in tracking down it's history is good fun..And excuse my pictures, that's macro on a ixus 130!

Yes, yes and yes. The wear and dirt are on the dial.

Not one of my better purchases, but I didn't pay a lot,
