Omega DeVille Authenticity help

Hi all,

I recently bought this watch from a local watch shop. The owner described the watch to me as an Omega DeVille, but having looked at other Omega DeVille's online, I have seen that many have 'DeVille' written on the front.

I am not experienced with watches and I feel like a fool for not researching before and for buying it on a whim.

Should I be concerned that the watch doesn't have DeVille written on the front? Should I take it to a professional to authenticate it?

I apologise in advance for my amateurishness.

Kind regards,
John

It look fine to me. Probably a reference 196.0312 from the 1980s.
Some De Ville models from that era had plain dials, mainly quartz models.
I don't know if it was intentional by Omega to have a plainer dial for dress models, or if it was just something different that Omega did.
Which they did often.

Thank you Speed2Sea. I paid £280.

Seems like a fair price. Congrats and enjoy your watch.
