Hello everyone, A little out of my territory here. a friend found this item in a vintage smoking and pen store here in Detroit. He liked it and took only one picture. I know...believe me I KNOW the picture sucks. So I did tell him he needed better pics from different angles and hopefully the movement...I may go to the store and do it for him. IN the mean time all I need to know is IF this is a legitimate example what would it go for? For what I can see it's a 14k cal 550, and that's as far as I can go. I thought 500 to 800...or 1200 max if it was a really good example. The store owner quoted him $1800 US which I think is too much but I honestly don't know. So...just in general until we can get better pics, what's the high-Low on this?
IF its actually solid gold, $1000 maybe a little more if its really nice. Yes, lots more clear photos necessary for proper assessment. A solid gold case will be marked between the lower lugs. Also note, the movements on these come out from the front, not for amateurs or pipe shop owners.
If you want one more opinion, 1800 is way over the top. If it's gold and running decent, a Wryfox take it home deal would be 600-700. The gold really isn't that much add, and always assume it needs a service. 700 plus sales tax, plus service you're at $1000. Alot of good vintage watches at that price point if you've got it to spend.
Thats good. Thats within the range i told him. My gut was 800 IF after better pics it was legit. Extending to 1200 IF it was perfect and he really wanted it. I sent him a message stating as much. Thank you all for your feedback
