A fake? No. The signed movement and case look genuine to me.

The dial may not be original. You would need to do further research on that.

    Google "Omega Watch Ref. 166.0202"

Let us know what you find.

    Thank you,

This is my first watch and I'm not sure what i'm looking at, so is it not a de ville?
I purchased the watch on a eBay bid for £180 which seemed far too cheap to me
Would you say I've been ripped off?

I'd say you've bought a watch at market rate, and could have done a lot worse. ;)

It's probably a deville... but working that out will require some research on your part to confirm that the dial is original to the watch.

In the future, research (a lot) first, spend money second.

    Thank you, much appreciated!
    Sorry, one lasts question
I'm not too worried if the dial has been replaced but when they are replaced are they often genuine or aftermarket dials?
Thank you so much for your help

I think that's the original dial... the watch looks pretty honest.

A non original dial could either be a replacement from Omega, or a repaint of the original dial.

I think the dial and everything else is original. The rotor seems rubbed in one area so something inside probably needs adjusting. In any case the watch should be serviced before you start wearing it regularly.

Thanks, I was told it was serviced roughly a year a go, I'm yet to see how much time it loses each day

You can find many vintage omega watches near 100 pounds..not to say that the vintage Omega lady watches are more cheaper..30 pounds.
