Today, I just closed a deal on my second 1950's Omega Cosmic Triple Date Moon Phase in 18k yellow gold with an ORIGINAL black dial. I am not 100% sure about the date marker hand, but I have a NOS caliber 381 date hand in my parts inventory just in case. Original winding crown. Please click on pictures to enlarge.

Very nice. I agree that that date hand belongs to a different watch. Congratulations and wear her in good health.

This is the kind of watch you might take a decade or longer to find! Enjoy and you know who to call if you ever want to find her a new owner :)

Those lugs drive me crazy....in a good way - Congrats on the newest acquisition, should hang onto it for awhile my friend. Money can't replace that small second of "ahhhhhhh....." when you look down at your wrist....or is that just me? :D

Cristo is mistaken in his reply. The E-bay link is the actual watch I just purchased. The seller just has not cancelled the auction yet. I receive it tomorrow morning before 10:30 AM EST. I will post additional pictures upon receipt. I am not selling it. As I already own a square Cosmic TDMP case 3944 with matte silver dial, I have been searching for the right matching black dial for quite some time. Now I have a pair. So I am sorry to inform Cristo, the watch is not for sale.

As mentioned, I have never seen a 3944 with the date indicator hand like the one on my new purchase. As I also mentioned, I have a spare NOS extra blue teardrop end date hand for the caliber 381. Before I make the change, I was wondering if anyone has ever seen the date hand that is currently on the watch I just purchased? By the way, having joined this forum only recently I wanted to ask a question about how members refer to each other. When in a previous reply, Cristos 71 referred to me as OP, when he incorrectly assumed I was selling the watch I just purchased yesterday afternoon, does his reference to me as OP, mean original poster?

I'm happy it isn't for sale, I had assumed it was a disguised sales post.

Congratulations with your imminent arrival :)

Thank you for the clarification. I am more comfortable being referred to as Seth, if that does not violate any forum rules. Just makes things a bit more friendly.

Package arrived just before 10:00 AM this morning. Now I am fortunate to have a matched pair. Need to gat a matte alligator black band tomorrow for the newly acquired black dial.

What a difference a matte black genuine croc strap makes. I was able to find the matte black strap in 20mm at the lug end and 16mm at the buckle end for a perfect fit. Goes perfect with the original black dial.
