Hi everyone, I stumbled across this piece. While at first I thought it was worthless and in very bad condition (i still think it is in very bad condition), I had some time to spare and started doing some research. At first I couldn’t find any early constellations with the 2737 case, just some unnamed omegas. Then I came across a post from Desmond mentioning that he had seen a constellation with this case just once. Since omega messed around with the cases, dials and movements in the late 40’s early 50’s I thought that maybe this could be one of those very early constellations. What i find weird is that the movement is a 353 movement, shouldn’t the 353 always be a ‘date’ movement? Dials seems, all be it in a very bad condition, original. So it’s either one of three things: A very early Connie and quite a rare piece. A rare 2737 18k case with a different movement and dial put in at some point during its life. A complete mess of put together parts. I know the dial/case/movement aren’t in the best shape (understatement) so please don’t tell me that. This post isn’t about the condition. I hope anyone with some more knowledge about early Connie’s or the 2737 case can tell me something about this watch. Kind regards.
It is a ref. 2737 and not 2373. Reference 2737 is a rare Trésor model with screw down case back and 35,5 mm. diameter. Anyway not a Constellation and it should have cal. 354.
My initial search also brought up that tresor you’re mentioning. Like I said, this post from Desmond http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com/2009/03/rare-14311-globemaster-surfaces.html?m=1 mentions a 2737 constellation.
Thank you for your response! I guess my first feeling was right then. Too bad someone messed up a tresor to put this together.
