Hello,

I've got to inherited a watch after my fathers passing. Tried to Google and do some research but not finding any information since Im not sure what to look for in the first place. Can someone help? Would be nice to know the model, year and estimated worth.

The locking mechanism on the bracelet looks old so I assume it's old. Does someone know if its the original?

Overall the watch seems to be in pretty ok condition and it's still working. Will take it to service in a few weeks and also fix the bracelet which is broken.

Thank you!

Hello, welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing your watch. Nice heirloom.

This is a constellation 167.005 (no date). The crown has been replaced in the past, it should be decagonal with the omega logo.

The crystal seems to show the omega symbol in the middle, it’s pretty small but if zoomed in you can see it.

The lugs are called dogleg. The case is gold capped I think, and has seen some polishing in the past.

The dial is called piepan. I will let the black dial experts chime in as to originality.

Other members might also have some recommendations on where to get it serviced, if you share an approximate location.

For the date, the information is inside. The movement number enables to date more or less precisely. Best to not try opening it yourself, as the case back could be damaged in the process. If you get it serviced, the watchmaker can get you this information.

Further to @theluckyluke comments I would add:
The seconds hand is too long (so maybe try and get that sorted during a service), it should only reach the minute hashes.
The dial fonts look a little heavy but maybe that’s just the photos. It looks nice and I would say the dial is original.
The 12 o’clock marker looks a little odd, - i would have expect to see a doubled up version of the others. All the markers have lume notches and this one doesn’t so that seems strange.
It will likely date to around 1966 plus minus a couple of years either way. The number stamped on the movement will provide a more accurate date.
I don’t know much about bracelets so will let others comment.
