Another Rare Omega, shame about the polished case, incorrect crown, but this dial is special, pink/rose accents....YUM.

I would say the dial is poorly refinished.

Looking closer I can see what you mean. Oh well! Wouldn't pay the premium for this anyway.

Here's my example. Tim's watch is interesting with the colored furniture though. Too bad it has been refinished.

Looking more carefully at the listing for this watch, Tim does say that the dial is refinished and that the hands are new too. Which is still no excuse for the minute track being displaced at the bottom of the dial - I would have sent that straight back to the refinisher. More to the point, though, if we look at the rest of the photos you can see that truly horrible things have been done to the case back, in order to disguise some previous damage. It's (to me) surprising how little mention is given to case backs in general, when they are so often scored up by ham-fisted attempts at removal, pitted by some gorilla's acid sweat, or dinged and dented by careless use. Then this damage is very often poorly "restored" by traders with little skill but plenty of 1000 grade paper.

Greetings, I have a similar model I inherited from my Uncle, can you tell me if a nos band exists, not sure I like the replace I just purchased. Also out of curiosity any idea how rare these are as I have a hard time finding a similar one on my quick search of the internet.
    Thanks
    Lou

A very nice combo! I know it is blasphemous but I like this better than on the bead of rice bracelet...

Should look better since this bracelet costs 5x a BOR bracelet.

I believe these were delivered on alligator straps.
    (gatorcpa- have any catalog pics?)
Old stock Omega straps are available on ebay from time to time.
The experts say these aren't that rare but I can't find any for sale
either. Would love to see more pics of your watch.

I've never seen a specific type of leather mentioned in any of the vintage ads for these. My guess is that Omega supplied several different bands styles to dealers to accommodate customer preferences.

The Omega Vintage Database also just says "leather", without a mention of type.

Probably calfskin or cowhide were standard and more exotic leathers like elephant or alligator were small upcharges. Maybe included on full gold or DeLuxe models.

Just not sure which band was supplied with a particular reference.
