    Greetings Respectable Members;

    I came across this recessed crown large size Connie with "Türler" on the dial. Can anyone say if this one is original? I think something about the dial looks off, but I don't have anything else to compare it to..::confused2::

    Dial is legit IMO. These Ref. 168.004's came in both dome and pie-pan dials. This one is a dome dial. If the inside is as nice as the outside, could be a winner.

    That one looks rather worn. Plenty of Türlers around.

    For the ignorant around here, who or what was Turler. I'm suffering shoulder pains from lugging a copy of AJTT back from central London and don't have the strength to turn the pages (if it is in there)

    Turler was a retailer IIRC.

    As is Meister. Just like the Tiffany dials you find.

    Turler is a retailer - still extant. Most of the others have gone under or been bought out, but Turler has become a chain. Headquarters store on the Banhofstrasse in Zurich, with many branches throughout Switzerland, including the duty free concession at the Zurich Airport.

    Well I know Tiffany & Co still do, they recently had a branded black dial version of the Patek Philippe 5396 (my favourite Patek) which looked rather special.

    Hodinkee.com did a good article on it:

    No idea, but as the brand has become a chain, it has lost a bit of cachet. It'd be a little like putting "Tourneau" on an otherwise perfectly good watch.

    The Costco in canberra stocks omegas, but you will be pleased to know, you can buy those individually, rather than in multi packs of 2 dozen!

    ALWAYS inspect Mr. Photoshop's pictures for subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, 'corrections'. :p
