I've never seen one of the sterling silver presentation boxes. I imagine many were sold off for scrap?

Not so much scrapped as re-purposed for cigarettes/cigars (as intended)

They come up for sale now and again - some members have them if you search OF.

Here’s a other example, slightly different version. They don’t come up too often, but it happens. Re value since @omega1994 asked, the last one I say went for ~1.5kUSD. The box, that is.

Why can't they make boxes like that now? I'd happily trade my oversized wooden boxes!!

Beautiful watch! That watch in steel has been a grail of mine, but after decades of looking I've mostly given up the dream.
