Omega Constellation False Caseback? shouldnt it be Steel as the indices are also steel? is there a method the clean the dial and remove the dirt? thanks
The dial looks like somebody has already attempted a clean, note the missing text. That is always the risk...
2852s are meant to have gold medallions, its correct. You need to start reading the PDFs on http://omega-constellation-collectors.blogspot.com.au/ by Desmond
Looks all original to me, although I agree that a bad cleaning job was attempted on the dial. gatorcpa
It's not dirt, it's oxidation/degradation of the lacquer layer on the dial. There's a huge risk and big cost in trying to clean it, so you'd better like it as is or look for something better. There's no steel medallion on Constellations until the the dog-leg and later cases, and it goes along with the case metal, not the hour indices. Also the indices on this watch are more likely white gold or rhodium plated, not steel.
Leave the dial alone, the chance of it getting better by cleaning isn't worth the risk of it getting worse.
