Omega Constellation Double Eagle

Hi Guys. Long time lurker here and evidently one of the few with any love for the modern Constellation range (Globemaster excluded). So I have a question about the Double Eagle. What makes it so other than the name? Some, if not all, appear to be perpetual calendar models, which seems incredulous given that there is a pre-owned model on Watchfinder for only £1900. Ok, it's a quartz model but even so, a perpetual calendar for that price seems to be something of a bargain.
Am I missing or misunderstanding something about the Double Eagle models? What do you know?
I've included an obligatory photo of my own Constellation.
Cheers for now.

From what I understand its basically making the Constellation look thicker more masculine in appearance and presence on the wrist to rival the popularity of sport watches.
