Are all the specks on the crystal or dial? As far as value, you have the reference number and the caliber so you should be able to search the sold listings on eBay. Where have you been for the last 3 years?

It is not a Deluxe but it is rare. Buy it.

PS .... oppps. Missing one case clamp is not a good sign. Be careful.

    I take it's rare because it's an arrowhead dial in a 168.005?

I rarely see an arrowhead dial in 168.005. Does this combination actually exist or could it be franken?

I'd be more comfortable seeing an arrowhead dial in a 14902, which, again, is extremely uncommon. I've seen arrowheads in 005's but I've never been able to verify through advertising or anyone at the museum. Serial number puts it almost on the cusp of the changeover though.

    Cheers

    Looks pretty good actually.

I'm still relatively inexperienced so.. how do I tell if someone transplanted a piepan arrowhead into a dogleg case? Does it actually fit nicely?

It's fairly easy. Cal 561 pie pan dials don't fit a cal 504 dial feet, which would be the only option for a swap.

There are some fake arrowhead dials out there that fit fake 18k 561 Constellations, but they're easy to identify.

Do the font and cross hair look good?
Does the font and cross hair fit a 504 or 561?
Do you see the rim of the dial in the first pic?
Does the date window look original?
    How about the serial #?

Font and cross hair looks good.

I did not know font and cross hair has a certain style to a calibre.

Date window looks faceted which is an indication that it's original (? Not sure)

Serial number puts it at 1962 but I'm not sure when was 168.005 first produced

    Rim looks decent as well.

Again, do correct me if my observations are wrong. Thanks for taking your time

So far, nobody can tell if that dial has feet or the feet were cut off to fit on a 561.
But to me, that dial is not for a calibre 504. What else it can fit on? A 561, yes?
And we can see the rim of the dial on the first pic, the date window looks correct, too.

My conclusion is "a rare late arrowhead dial" connie.
    Cheers.

    Hope I am right.:D

Dial has "Chronometer" spelling, which is correct for a later cal. 561 Constellation. The cal .504's (Ref. 2943) have the "Chronometre" spelling on the dial.
