Hi guys, newcomer here looking to get my first omega vintage. Saw this Constellation Chronometer Gold Cap. Seller only has these info...
    - 18k gold plated
    - Dial and case are original
    - Glass is original with Omega logo in center
    - Chronometer constellation movement
    - caseback has a cosmetic exterior crack
    - likely 70's or 80s piece??
Seller is asking for about US$650. Does this look genuine and is the price right?

It looks good in general, but the dial pic is out of focus. We need to see to be able to know.

    welcome @Extinguisher

late 60s/early 70s 168.018 - more likely the former due to the dauphine hands
the lugs look pretty good but the bezel is a little polished and has a ding at 9
agree the dial looks okay but need better pics to be sure (the second 'straight M' is a known variation on this reference)
rotor rub would need sorting out
Looks like someone has tried to remove the engraving on the back -and I'm not sure any crack in a case is 'superficial' :cautious:

I think with some patience you could still get a mint version of this reference for that price

    hope that helps

The new photo is still out of focus. I think @Peemacgee was telling you not to buy this. Unless you have already purchased, you can do better.

$650 would be at the top end of fmv if the crown was correct.

    I'd pass.

    Cordially,
