Think I just got a good deal on this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Omega-Constellation-Chronometer-Diamond-Bezel-18K-Gold-/221169957391?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&nma=true&si=iDf4awE42sMbL6ZGXPUyTGI6mzo=&orig_cvip=true&rt=ncPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Yes? No? Comments? Hope the seller will come through (and it is not a scam, etc. - LOL) However, the illustrations were a bit inconsistent. I went by the stated Style # Omega 1277.15.00. - Bidded in "blind faith".
Looks very nice to me. I have always favored these as a women's dress watch. Just don't see them on men
They're nice watches Mary. A couple of Windy's friends have them. They chose the Constellation over Rolex and TAG, which are more recognized brands in their circle (doctors, specialist nurses, anesthesilolgists). ps - Windy is getting the bug. She now has 2 vintage Omegas. I'm doomed.
If it is an original, you really got a good deal. A NOS like that will easily fetch more than USD 2000 in Asia. It's a very nice Connie model IMO, one of my favorite. Kinda blurry pictures with no caseback, clasp and box pictures. Hope it's not a bad sign.
This is so good to know. Like I said, I sort of bidded "in blind faith" - considering the blurry shots and wrong stock images. Hwvr, eBay is good if something goes wrong. - Well, I hope! Thanks!
Ouch..... the men version is one of my favorite...... but I understand this particular 'claw' model is not popular in western. Omega tried to correct it with more beefy design in double eagle, but not yet hit the same tone as previous Connie model.
She's wearing it tonight. I bought another from Kyle so she'll have 2. I sold "her" Seamaster a while back. It's made the rounds and now Giles / Poloplayer owns it.
Awesome! Is it the one you put together? Was it a simple task? -- FYI, I am still holding the parts that you recommended.
Virtually any female lawyer in London who wears a decent watch seems to wear a modern Constellation, they're incredibly popular here. Hope it checks out well for you Mary
Yes, it was put together from NOS parts. And yes, it was simple - I gave all the stuff to Steve / N2FHL and then handed him a fistful of dollars when he was done.
Thanks! The tracking shows it is being shipped out. I should receive it in a few days (from the West Coat to East). Then I will know.
"Thanks" to you, now I am holding the bag (of Omega parts) - LOL! Think I will need to go to a watch shop to get it put together now.
Update: The mail lady just delivered the package. The watch appears to be in excellent condition - very little sign of use, though it will need a battery and some cleaning. The box, however, looks old, but it does not matter to me. Next step: Hope it ticks and works!
Standard Omega box IMO is low quality. One year old box will show significant outer degradation, especially in humid country like Indonesia. I don't know why they don't use a higher quality material.
