Hello OF,

Looking for some guidance and reference materials in regards to Omega Constellation 568.016 Cal. 682. To my knowledge COSC calibers 5xx and 7xx are one of the most reliable vintage movements. I own COSC 168.029 cal. 751 and 168.010 cal. 561. What do you think about COSC 6xx? In Desmond's full Connies caliber list I found only 7 references to 6xx and in your opinion they are simply flawed by design or too big and were replaced by more sophisticated 7xx or my logic is flawed?
Reference photos below and I have already requested additional movement and inside of caseback photos. I really do like the feel and look of this Connie and the case looks sharp.

Instant answer from the seller and more photos below. I did not know that serial is closer to the bezel 😉

This is a ladies sized Constellation so, not too big at all. The case number starts with 5 and that confirms that it is a ladies size. They are usually significantly cheaper than the mens size.

The 682 is about 18 mm diameter and the 550 series calibres are about 28 mm. These will set up very well and share a similar design philosophy as the 550 series (includes the 561 and 851) but at about 2/3 scale so, they are a little more difficult to service.

If you like the size of the watch, then I wouldn't worry too much about the calibre. Not all watchmakers like to work on these smaller movements but, they follow normal design. In fact, my wife has a 684 and that's a lovely little watch, one of the smallest calibres with the sweep seconds/automatic/date complications. The 684 also runs at a higher beat rate than the 550 series so is even more impressive. As I remember, the 682 is the same as the 550s because it runs at 19800 A/h.

Regards, Chris
