Hi all, I am continuing to shift the focus of my collection so I am selling one of my 2852s and keeping the other. This is a 2852-4 with stainless steel case and yellow gold arrowhead markers. Case: Overall, the stainless steel case is in excellent unpolished condition. The inside of lugs are razor sharp with retained bezel contours. There are tiny superficial scratches, commensurate with age. Case is chunky and measures 35 mm without crown, 42 mm lug to lug. Crown: Unsigned replacement crown. Caseback: Excellent condition snap down caseback with super sharp Observatory logo, which retains original embossing and all stars. Some light superficial scuffs, commensurate with age. The words "Constellation" and "Waterproof" are clearly visible (these are often rubbed off). Inside is marked 2852-4 SC and has several watchmakers marks. Movement: Cal 501 automatic movement. This watch was not serviced in my possession and is running with about two minutes time loss in 24 hours. Automatic winding, manual winding, and time settling are crisp. If you intend on wearing it daily, a service is recommended. 14,88X,XXX serial dates the watch to late 1955/early early 1956. Dial: Original unrestored dial in good condition. Crosshair dial with yellow gold applied arrowhead indices. The dial has developed patina, as seen in the high resolution photos. I have seen this type of spotty patina with other 2852s and it appears similar to my other 2852. Hands: Original hands. Crystal: Unsigned crystal, which I believe to be replaced. Buckle: Comes on an inexpensive 18mm brown leather strap, which complements the watch well. For this watch, I am asking $1150 which will include shipping in the USA. Happy to accept bank wire, Venmo, Paypal Friends and Family. International deals can be discussed and will ship at cost to buyer. TransferWise works nicely for international deals with less fees on both sides. Returns if watch is grossly misrepresented. I have had numerous transactions on this forum with reviews posted in the Seller Profile section.
Wore this for the last day and it has great wrist presence with the thick case and nice lug-to-lug distance!
Nice, a large arrowhead for alittle over a grand and this is still here? Is this the upside down world?
It must be because the watch is still available! This watch wears nicely and has a great wrist presence!
Yea it's stranger things alright, shocked this is still here. If I didn't have fat man wrists it would be mine. Lovely even dial patina and sharp beautifully defined lugs. Priced right too, if it lasts any longer we need to find the demogorgon!
Some fresh photos and a final price reduction. Check out the razor sharp case, which is 35 mm without crown! Final price is $1025 for the watch, which includes shipping in the USA. EDIT: SOLD on June 28. Thanks OF and buyer!
